AT&T rolled out a new AI‑powered mobile application on March 18, 2026 that brings its wireless and home‑internet services into a single, unified interface. The app offers streamlined notifications, usage insights, and an AI assistant that helps customers manage all of their AT&T subscriptions from one place.
The assistant is built on licensed large‑language‑model components, including Google’s Gemini and OpenAI’s ChatGPT, and is designed around customer feedback that highlighted a need for simplicity, speed, and control. “We built our new app around what customers told us they wanted most: simplicity, speed, and control,” said Jenifer Robertson, AT&T’s EVP and GM for Mass Markets.
The launch is a key milestone in AT&T’s broader convergence strategy, which seeks to bind fiber broadband and 5G wireless subscriptions to reduce churn and increase lifetime value. CEO John Stankey noted that the strategy has raised the share of postpaid phone subscribers by 10 percentage points in markets where fiber is available, underscoring the business case for a unified customer experience.
By consolidating services, AT&T aims to create a sticky moat for its wireless business, making it harder for customers to switch providers while also streamlining support and enhancing the overall customer journey. The app’s AI features are intended to anticipate and resolve issues before they become friction points that drive churn.
Kellyn Smith Kenny, AT&T’s chief marketing and growth officer, said the new flagship app “is designed around our customers’ lives, not just their bills, making it faster and easier to manage services, shop, get support when needed, and stay connected to what matters most.”
Andrew Solmssen, assistant vice president of Digital Customer Growth, added that “our data shows that if there is friction in customers’ experiences, people just drop off,” highlighting the importance of a friction‑free interface for retention.
The launch marks a significant step in AT&T’s effort to leverage AI and convergence to strengthen its competitive position in the telecom market.
