Teradata announced a partnership with Unstructured that embeds the latter’s data ingestion and processing engine directly into the Enterprise Vector Store. The integration will let customers automatically ingest, process, and transform a wide range of unstructured content—documents, PDFs, spreadsheets, emails, images, video, and audio—into high‑quality, AI‑ready data inside the platform, with availability slated for April 2026.

The new release adds agentic and multi‑modal capabilities to the Vector Store, creating a complete pipeline from embedding generation to indexing, metadata management, and AI‑framework integration. The enhancements enable generative‑AI and autonomous‑agent workloads across hybrid, cloud, and on‑premises environments, allowing organizations to run AI workloads on the same infrastructure that hosts their legacy data warehouses.

This move is part of Teradata’s broader strategy to shift from legacy data warehousing to a trusted hybrid AI platform. By embedding Unstructured’s ingestion engine, Teradata removes the need for external tools, keeps data within the platform, and preserves governance and sovereignty—an advantage for regulated industries that must maintain strict data controls.

The announcement follows a strong Q4 2025 earnings report in which Teradata generated $421 million in revenue, beating consensus estimates, and reported a non‑GAAP EPS of $0.74 versus the $0.55 expected. The beat was driven by robust demand in core segments and disciplined cost control. Management raised guidance for Q1 2026 and the full fiscal year, signaling confidence in the monetization of its AI platform and the continued growth of its hybrid model.

Sumeet Arora, Teradata’s Chief Product Officer, said the platform “reimagines how enterprises operationalize AI by unifying structured and multi‑modal unstructured data with autonomous‑agent capabilities within a single governed platform.” Brian Raymond, founder and CEO of Unstructured, noted that the partnership “enables customers to unlock their unstructured data for Gen AI with the same governance, security, and operational rigor they expect from everything else in their environment.” Steve McMillan, Teradata’s president and CEO, highlighted the resurgence of interest in the hybrid model, driven by data‑sovereignty and regulatory demands.

The partnership positions Teradata to capture the expanding AI‑enabled analytics market, leveraging its enterprise‑scale infrastructure and governance to compete with standalone vector databases. The enhanced Vector Store gives regulated customers a single, governed platform for both structured and unstructured data, supporting the company’s goal of becoming a trusted hybrid AI platform.
