Teledyne Energy Systems announced a new contract to install its Titan™ EL Series alkaline water electrolysis system at JTEKT Corporation’s carbon‑neutral plant in Aichi Prefecture, Japan. The generator will produce approximately 112,000 Nm³ of high‑purity hydrogen each year, allowing JTEKT to replace the liquefied natural gas that has historically powered its aluminum melting and holding furnaces with a low‑emission alternative.
JTEKT’s plant is part of the company’s broader carbon‑neutral strategy, which targets zero emissions for production activities by 2035 and for the entire life cycle by 2050. The hydrogen generator fits into this plan by providing on‑site, zero‑emission fuel that can be used directly in the existing furnace infrastructure, reducing the plant’s annual CO₂ emissions by an estimated 56 metric tons. The project also complements JTEKT’s other initiatives, such as the CN Park and a hydrogen griller demonstration machine, underscoring the company’s commitment to hydrogen‑based decarbonization.
Teledyne’s contract aligns with the company’s green‑hydrogen expansion strategy. In its most recent earnings release, Teledyne Technologies reported Q4 2025 net sales of $1.612 billion, a 7.3% year‑over‑year increase, and GAAP diluted earnings per share of $5.84, the highest in the company’s history. Non‑GAAP EPS reached $6.30, beating analyst expectations by $0.47. Management guided for 2026 revenue of approximately $6.37 billion and non‑GAAP EPS of $23.65, reflecting confidence in continued growth and margin strength.
"This project demonstrates how on‑site green hydrogen production can be seamlessly integrated into demanding industrial environments," said Barbara Stachowiak, Vice President and General Manager of Teledyne Energy Systems. "By enabling JTEKT to replace fossil fuels with clean hydrogen generated at the point of use, we are helping manufacturers take practical, scalable steps toward carbon neutral operations." Executive Chairman Robert Mehrabian added, "We concluded 2025 with the best quarterly orders, sales, and non‑GAAP earnings and operating margin in the company’s history," highlighting the company’s strong execution and the strategic value of the new contract.
The hydrogen generator’s high purity—99.9998%—and its capacity to produce 112,000 Nm³ annually position Teledyne as a key player in the growing industrial green‑hydrogen market. By delivering a proven, scalable solution to a major automotive supplier, the company demonstrates its ability to support large‑scale decarbonization projects, reinforcing its reputation as a leader in on‑site gas and power generation systems.
