Teledyne Marine, a division of Teledyne Technologies, and UK‑based M Subs announced a Memorandum of Understanding on February 27, 2026, to collaborate on maritime unmanned systems for the Royal Navy and other international naval programs.

The partnership combines Teledyne’s expertise in vehicle platforms, autonomy systems, sonars, acoustic communications, cameras, lighting, and subsea connectors with M Subs’ advanced autonomy and sensor‑integration capabilities. The two companies are already working together on the integration of Teledyne SeaBat multibeam sonars with Zero USV platforms, a collaboration demonstrated at REPMUS 2025, and will expand to include Slocum gliders and Osprey‑class AUVs from Zero USV systems with planned demonstrations in the United Kingdom and Iceland during the first and second quarters of 2026.

The collaboration is expected to support the Royal Navy’s Atlantic Bastion and MHC Block 2 programs, providing integrated, high‑performance solutions for surveillance, mine countermeasures, and subsea operations. By combining Teledyne’s proven hardware with M Subs’ autonomy expertise, the partnership aims to deliver end‑to‑end unmanned maritime capabilities that align with the Navy’s “uncrewed where possible, crewed where necessary” strategy.

Teledyne Marine’s global footprint includes production facilities in North Falmouth, Massachusetts and Kopavogur, Iceland, and a network of international service centers. The company has delivered more than 12,000 APEX floats, 1,275 Slocum gliders, and Gavia AUV systems to 18 navies, with over 600 units already in service with NATO navies.

Teledyne’s recent financial performance underscores the strategic timing of the partnership. In Q4 2025, the company reported record net sales of $1.61 billion, up 7.3 % year‑over‑year, and non‑GAAP margins of 23.9 %. Full‑year 2025 net sales totaled $6.115 billion, a 7.9 % increase from 2024. Analysts have responded positively, raising price targets in light of the company’s strong earnings and growing unmanned‑maritime business.

M Subs is a private company and has not disclosed financial details. The collaboration is expected to strengthen Teledyne’s position in the rapidly expanding unmanned maritime market and provide the Royal Navy with integrated, high‑performance solutions for surveillance, mine countermeasures, and subsea operations.
