Tenable announced on January 27, 2026 that its Tenable One platform now offers a new AI Exposure module, making the feature generally available to customers. The addition expands the platform’s coverage to AI‑driven applications, cloud services, APIs and agents, providing continuous discovery and governance of AI usage across an organization’s entire attack surface.

The module surfaces the “AI Exposure Gap,” the invisible risk created when generative AI models interact with data, processes and identities. By integrating AI visibility into the same unified operational model used for traditional vulnerability management, Tenable delivers a risk‑aware view of where AI is deployed, how it is connected, and where exposure is created.

The launch is part of Tenable’s broader platform strategy, which already accounts for 40% of new business and commands higher average selling prices than standalone vulnerability solutions. Gartner has identified the AI attack surface as a key investment area, and Tenable’s AI Exposure module positions the company to capture that growth.

Tenable’s recent financial performance underscores the strategic fit of the new module. In Q3 2025, the company reported revenue of $252.4 million, a return to profitability, and strong cash generation, giving it the resources to invest in AI capabilities. The company’s acquisition of Apex Security earlier in 2025 further expanded its AI security portfolio.

Management emphasized the importance of the launch. Co‑CEO and CFO Steve Vintz said, “Simply discovering shadow AI isn’t enough. A true exposure management strategy requires an end‑to‑end solution that lets organizations discover their entire AI footprint, manage the associated risks, and govern its use according to their policies.” Chief Product Officer Eric Doerr added, “By connecting the dots between AI risk and the larger business risk, Tenable delivers the visibility and context security leaders need for informed proactive defense.”

With a global customer base of roughly 44,000 organizations, Tenable’s AI Exposure module is expected to accelerate adoption of its platform and deepen customer relationships. The company’s focus on high‑margin AI contracts and operational leverage should support continued revenue growth and margin expansion in the coming quarters.
