Trex Company, Inc. (NYSE: TREX) announced that Zachary C. Lauer will serve as Senior Vice President and Chief Operations Officer, effective April 28 2026. Lauer brings more than two decades of experience in operations, supply chain, and manufacturing leadership, including ten years with Trex since joining the company in 2016.
Prior to Trex, Lauer held senior roles at Newell‑Rubbermaid and Federal‑Mogul, and most recently served as Senior Vice President of Supply Chain and Manufacturing at Trex. In his new role he will oversee global manufacturing, supply chain, engineering, and research and development, positioning him to drive operational excellence across the company’s three U.S. manufacturing sites.
The appointment comes as Trex ramps up its Little Rock, Arkansas facility—a $400 million investment that began production in 2025—and expands its product portfolio for the 2025 season. New decking colors, expanded railing lineups, and additional steel, aluminum, cable, and glass systems are slated for launch, underscoring the company’s focus on product diversification and market leadership.
President and CEO Adam Zambanini said, "Zach’s deep operational expertise and strong track record of leadership make him the ideal choice to serve as our chief operations officer. His ability to drive performance across manufacturing and supply chain while fostering innovation in R&D will be critical as we execute on our strategic priorities." Lauer added, "I’m honored to take on this expanded role at Trex. I look forward to working with our talented teams to strengthen our operations, enhance quality and safety, and accelerate meaningful innovation across the organization."
Trex’s appointment of Lauer reflects a broader strategy of internal talent development and continuity in leadership. By placing an experienced Trex insider at the helm of operations, the company signals its commitment to scaling production, improving margins, and sustaining its position as the world’s largest manufacturer of composite decking and railing. The focus on operational efficiency dovetails with Trex’s sustainability agenda, which emphasizes recycled materials and environmental stewardship.
Trex reported net sales of $1.2 billion for 2025, a 2% increase from the prior year, and has earned recognition as America’s Most Trusted® Outdoor Decking for six consecutive years. The company’s continued investment in manufacturing capacity and product innovation is expected to support future growth and margin expansion while reinforcing its competitive advantage in the global market.
