Tower Semiconductor Ltd. (TSEM) and U.S.‑based Axiro Semiconductor announced that Axiro’s new Ku‑ and X‑band beam‑forming integrated circuits (BFICs) are now available. The BFICs are fabricated on Tower’s market‑leading Silicon Germanium (SiGe) technology and are described as delivering superior gain, linearity, output power, high efficiency, and fast‑switching performance for modern radar applications. The release notes that the devices are “ready for deployment in critical defense systems” and that Axiro is “currently ramping to volume production.”
"Tower has an established presence as a leading vendor to the U.S. aerospace and defense industry. This A&D experience, along with our market‑leading SiGe technology capabilities, sets the foundational performance and scalability essential for modern defense systems," said Mike Scott, Vice President and General Manager of the Aerospace & Defense Business Unit at Tower Semiconductor.
"As a U.S.-based company, we design and deliver our domestically engineered solutions directly to American defense prime contractors," said Naveen Yanduru, CEO of Axiro Semiconductor. "We selected Tower Semiconductor for their unparalleled SiGe technology expertise, which is fundamental to achieving the superior performance of our radar BFICs. Working with Tower's U.S. facility enables us to reinforce our commitment to secure, mission‑critical technology within the U.S. defense supply chain."
The partnership represents a material customer win for Tower, adding a new revenue stream in the defense sector and strengthening its domestic supply‑chain footprint. The availability of these high‑performance BFICs is expected to support future orders from defense primes and radar manufacturers, potentially boosting Tower’s SiGe segment revenue and reinforcing its competitive moat in the analog foundry space.
Tower’s Q4 2025 results were record revenue of $440.2 million and an adjusted EPS of $0.78, underscoring the company’s strong financial performance. The Axiro partnership aligns with Tower’s strategy to invest in high‑growth areas such as silicon photonics and SiGe, and it positions the company to capture a growing share of the defense market that increasingly prioritizes domestically sourced, secure semiconductor solutions.
The U.S. defense industry’s trend toward domestic sourcing of mission‑critical components gives the partnership additional strategic importance, positioning Tower as a trusted supplier for high‑power radar and satellite communications solutions in a market that values security and reliability.
