Tetra Tech announced that it has been awarded two new multi‑award contracts, each valued at $100 million, with the U.S. Air Force Civil Engineer Center (AFCEC) and the Netherlands’ Rijkswaterstaat. The agreements add $200 million to the company’s backlog, bringing the total to a record $5.44 billion as of January 2025 and $5.38 billion at the end of fiscal year 2024.
The AFCEC contract is a five‑year, planning and assessment agreement that will see Tetra Tech’s engineers, scientists and technical specialists support the Air Force’s global civil‑engineering portfolio. The work includes environmental impact assessments, mitigation planning, environmental impact statements, surveys, analyses and predictive models, reinforcing the company’s position in defense infrastructure services.
The Rijkswaterstaat contract focuses on modernizing the Netherlands’ water‑infrastructure networks. Tetra Tech will deliver engineering and technical services for the design and upgrade of water systems, flood‑defence structures, locks and bridges, leveraging its in‑house data analytics and laboratory capabilities to support evidence‑based decision‑making. The project underscores the firm’s expertise in resilient water infrastructure and its expanding footprint in European markets.
These contracts strengthen Tetra Tech’s Government Services Group, which saw revenue rise 36 % year‑over‑year in Q1 2025 and 5 % in Q1 2026. The backlog growth supports the company’s strategy of expanding in critical infrastructure sectors and is expected to contribute materially to revenue and margin growth in the coming years. In Q1 2026, the company reported revenue of $1.21 billion and earnings per share of $0.35, beating analyst expectations and reflecting strong demand and disciplined cost management.
Dan Batrack, Tetra Tech Chairman and CEO, said, "The U.S. Air Force Civil Engineer Center has been providing effective engineering solutions that strengthen U.S. military infrastructure for more than 30 years. We look forward to continuing to use our Leading with Science® approach to provide innovative, efficient solutions for critical Air Force and Space Force projects." He added, "Tetra Tech has supported our clients in the Netherlands with innovative solutions to advance resilient water infrastructure for decades. We look forward to continuing to use our Leading with Science® approach to support Rijkswaterstaat to develop future‑proof solutions that protect communities against flooding, create sustainable green spaces, and provide resilient clean water supplies."
The addition of these contracts aligns with Tetra Tech’s recent performance, where it has consistently beaten earnings estimates and maintained a robust backlog. The $200 million increase represents a significant boost to the company’s long‑term revenue pipeline and reinforces its competitive position in both U.S. defense and European water‑infrastructure markets.
