TELUS and Capgemini have entered into a partnership to accelerate the evolution of TELUS’s network operations toward autonomous, intent‑based, closed‑loop systems. The collaboration focuses on modernizing TELUS’s proprietary network‑automation platform, enabling faster updates, greater scalability, lower infrastructure costs, and improved customer experience and network reliability across its fiber and wireless assets.
The partnership signals TELUS’s strategic shift from a traditional infrastructure builder to a technology‑enabled service provider. By leveraging Capgemini’s AI expertise, TELUS will be able to detect anomalies, predict equipment failures, and resolve issues in real time, thereby reducing operational complexity and enhancing service resilience.
TELUS reported Q4 2025 consolidated operating revenues of $5.3 billion, a slight decline from $5.4 billion in the prior year, with consolidated service revenue growth of 1%. The partnership aligns with TELUS’s 2026 financial targets of 2–4 % growth in consolidated service revenues and Adjusted EBITDA. Capgemini’s AI portfolio includes agentic AI and generative AI applications, and its global revenue was €22.5 billion in 2025.
Industry data show that 84 % of telecom operators operate at low levels of autonomy, while 61 % aim for Level 3 or higher by 2028. TELUS’s partnership positions it ahead of competitors Bell and Rogers, strengthening its competitive position in Canada’s oligopolistic market where network performance and reliability are key differentiators.
Tim Fell, Vice‑President of Wireline Technology & Services at TELUS, said, "TELUS is continually evolving its network to deliver the best possible experiences for its customers. This partnership with Capgemini builds on our strong foundation in network automation, enabling us to unlock new capabilities and take the next step forward on the path to autonomous network operations." Tom Mosseau, Managing Director of Capgemini in Canada, added, "This new agreement is a testament to our commitment to driving intelligent transformation in telecom globally. Together with TELUS, we are pioneering the future of autonomous networks. Capgemini's AI expertise and capabilities will help TELUS become more agile and deliver real value for its customers."
The partnership is expected to unlock new revenue streams and cost efficiencies, supporting TELUS’s dividend growth and capital allocation objectives. By accelerating autonomous network capabilities, TELUS can reduce operational complexity, improve service reliability, and better meet customer expectations, potentially enhancing its market position and long-term profitability.
