Tigo Energy announced the launch of its next‑generation GO Battery, a modular energy‑storage system designed for European residential customers. The new battery offers expandable capacity of up to 47.9 kWh, built from 3.68 kWh modules with a minimum configuration of 7.3 kWh. Plug‑and‑play modules can be added to existing Tigo GO Optimizer setups, allowing homeowners to scale storage as demand grows.

The GO Battery uses lithium‑iron‑phosphate chemistry and can operate in temperatures as low as –30 °C. Each 3.68 kWh module weighs 34 kg and carries CE and UKCA certifications, meeting VDE‑AR‑E2510 and CEI 0‑21 grid‑connection standards. Shipping of the product is scheduled to begin in June 2026, giving installers a clear timeline for deployment.

The battery is part of Tigo’s GO‑optimized product line, which already includes the GO EV Charger and GO Junction for heat‑pump integration. Its compatibility with the Tigo EI Residential Solar Solution and existing GO Optimizer systems creates a fully open‑architecture solution that can be integrated into a homeowner’s solar array with minimal redesign. This seamless integration is expected to increase sales volume and customer lock‑in for installers and end users alike.

The European residential storage market is expanding as reduced net‑metering rates and growing interest in self‑consumption drive demand for home batteries. By offering a high‑capacity, modular, plug‑and‑play solution, Tigo aims to capture a share of this market while broadening its revenue mix beyond its core MLPE business. The launch aligns with Tigo’s strategy to provide intelligent solar and energy software solutions and to expand its portfolio into battery storage, positioning the company for long‑term growth in the evolving renewable‑energy landscape.
