Uber announced a $500 million investment in Argentina to be deployed over the next three years, a commitment that follows the company’s 2016 entry into the country and its expansion to more than 50 cities. The announcement was made by Economy Minister Luis Caputo, underscoring the partnership between Uber and the Argentine government.

The investment is part of Uber’s broader strategy to grow in emerging economies and to consolidate its mobility and delivery services on a single platform. Uber’s CEO Dara Khosrowshahi said, "Argentina is one of the fastest‑growing markets for Uber globally. Over the past 10 years we have built a nationwide operation, and today we are doubling down on our commitment with $500mn for the next three years to consolidate a global platform vision that combines mobility and delivery in one place."

The capital will support both ride‑hailing and delivery operations, creating new opportunities for drivers and couriers and strengthening the local ecosystem of vehicles, insurance, digital payments, and maintenance services. Uber’s general manager for Argentina, Eli Frías, noted, "In these ten years we have seen how Uber moved from being a novelty to becoming part of the daily routine of millions of Argentines. The new phase would bring additional opportunities for drivers and users."

Uber Eats was relaunched in Argentina in 2023, making it the first country in the world to bring the service back after its 2020 exit. Uber Eats head Juan Martín Cappellini explained, "Argentina being the first country in the world to relaunch Uber Eats reflects Uber's commitment to the market and the consolidation of our integrated platform vision."

The $500 million commitment signals Uber’s confidence in Argentina’s growth prospects and its intent to deepen its presence in a fast‑growing market. By integrating mobility and delivery under one platform, Uber aims to enhance operational efficiency, expand its driver and courier network, and drive long‑term value for users and partners in the region.
