Uber has introduced a new platform, Uber Autonomous Solutions, designed to help autonomous vehicle partners commercialize robotaxi fleets worldwide. The suite bundles infrastructure, user‑experience, and fleet‑operations capabilities, including demand generation, rider experience, and real‑time operational insights, with the goal of cutting cost per mile and shortening time to market.

The platform positions Uber as a central demand layer for autonomous mobility, complementing its existing partnerships with Waymo, WeRide, Nuro, Lucid, and other technology developers. Uber is also investing more than $100 million in charging hubs for autonomous electric vehicles, underscoring its commitment to the necessary infrastructure for large‑scale deployment.

Uber’s strategy is to externalize the hard‑won competencies that have enabled its on‑demand platform to scale globally. Dara Khosrowshahi said, "Autonomous technology has remarkable potential to make transportation safer and more affordable. Innovation in autonomy is moving quickly, but meaningful commercialization will take much longer. For more than a decade, Uber has helped set the standard for on‑demand mobility and built the capabilities that make ‘push a button and get a ride’ work at global scale. With Uber Autonomous Solutions, we’re externalizing these hard‑won competencies for our partners."

Sarfraz Maredia, Global Head of Autonomous Mobility and Delivery, added, "AV tech teams should be able to focus on what they do best: building software that can safely power an autonomous world. Uber Autonomous Solutions is designed to complement their strengths by providing operational depth wherever they need it–whether that’s demand generation, rider experience, customer support, or managing the day‑to‑day realities of running a real‑world fleet. When partners plug into Uber’s network, they can scale more efficiently, operate more reliably, and move faster."

The launch signals Uber’s intent to become a full‑service mobility operating system, potentially unlocking a multitrillion‑dollar opportunity as the robotaxi market is projected to grow from $610 million to $147.25 billion by 2033. Uber’s partnership with Lucid and Nuro to deploy at least 20,000 Lucid Gravity SUVs equipped with Nuro’s autonomous technology, slated for a late‑2026 launch, exemplifies the platform’s reach across multiple cities worldwide.

The platform’s emphasis on demand generation, rider experience, and operational insights is designed to address the regulatory, competitive, and technological headwinds that have slowed autonomous vehicle commercialization, while providing partners with the scale and reliability needed to accelerate deployment.
