Uranium Energy Corp (UEC) received state regulatory approval and began operating three new header houses in wellfield 11 at its Christensen Ranch ISR mine in Wyoming, a move that will increase the mine’s production capacity and expand UEC’s U.S. uranium output.
The new header houses are part of UEC’s ISR hub‑and‑spoke strategy and add to the company’s licensed production capacity of roughly 12 million pounds per year across its Wyoming and South Texas operations. UEC acquired Christensen Ranch in 2021, restarted operations in August 2024, and produced its first dried and drummed uranium concentrates in February 2025.
On March 18 2026, UEC’s wholly‑owned subsidiary, United States Uranium Refining & Conversion Corp (UR&C), received a docket number from the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission. The docket is the first formal step in the licensing process for a conversion plant that would allow UEC to capture the conversion bottleneck in the domestic fuel cycle.
The planned conversion facility is part of a broader national‑security strategy to increase domestic nuclear capacity and reduce reliance on foreign suppliers. UEC is working with Fluor on engineering and design, and the facility would make the company the only U.S. firm with end‑to‑end capabilities from mining to conversion.
Brent Berg, Senior Vice President of U.S. Operations, said, “We sincerely appreciate the Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality for their cooperation, professionalism, and constructive engagement throughout the permitting process. With this approval, we have started uranium extraction at the new header houses enabling the planned increase in production volume at our Christensen Ranch operations.”
The expansion and conversion milestone come amid UEC’s recent financial results, where Q2 FY2026 revenue fell to $20.2 million from $49.8 million a year earlier, and adjusted EPS of –$0.03 matched analyst expectations. The company remains focused on scaling production and capturing margins through vertical integration.
The new header houses and conversion facility position UEC to meet growing domestic demand for uranium and strengthen its competitive advantage in a market increasingly focused on supply security.
