UL Solutions announced on April 29 2026 that it has broken ground on a new electromagnetic‑compatibility (EMC) and wireless testing laboratory in Neu‑Isenburg, Germany. The state‑of‑the‑art facility will feature a 10‑meter chamber capable of testing equipment up to 4 meters long and weighing up to 5 tons, with power capabilities of 200 amps per phase, as well as advanced wireless testing suites.

The laboratory is part of UL’s broader strategy to strengthen its Industrial segment, which posted 6.2% organic revenue growth and a 25.9% adjusted EBITDA margin for the full year 2025, and a 7.3% revenue increase with a 36.4% margin in Q4 2025. By adding large‑scale EMC and wireless testing capacity in Europe, UL aims to close a regional gap that has limited manufacturers’ ability to certify high‑power, connected products locally.

The new lab will expand UL’s testing capacity for large, high‑power industrial equipment, medical devices, consumer products, and automotive components—markets that are accelerating under electrification, AI, and data‑center megatrends. The investment is expected to accelerate certification cycles, support a higher‑margin service mix, and help UL capture a larger share of the European certification market.

“Our investment in this exciting new state‑of‑the‑art facility reflects our commitment to meeting customers where they are,” said Jennifer Scanlon, President and CEO of UL Solutions.

The laboratory is projected to be operational in mid‑2027. It is part of UL’s global infrastructure expansion, which has recently included new facilities in China, Italy, and Japan. The German site is designed as a green building, incorporating renewable energy and energy‑efficiency measures.

UL Solutions’ stock reached an all‑time high in October 2025, driven by strong financial results and strategic investments. The new laboratory supports the company’s high‑margin service mix and positions UL to capitalize on electrification and AI megatrends.
