U.S. Bank announced that it will issue two new Amazon Business credit cards—an Amazon Business Prime Card and a standard Amazon Business Card—through the Mastercard network. The cards will launch in spring 2026, carry no annual fee, and offer flexible credit terms. Prime members will earn 5% back on Amazon purchases, while non‑Prime members will earn 3% back, and both cards will provide additional rewards on non‑Amazon purchases, with a 1% back tier after $150,000 in combined annual net purchases.

Existing Amazon Business American Express cardholders will be transitioned to the new U.S. Bank‑issued cards on August 14 2026. Cardholders will receive new cards automatically and can continue using their existing account numbers and benefits without interruption.

The reward structure is designed to incentivize high‑volume spend: 5% back for Prime members, 3% back for non‑Prime members, and a 1% back bonus after $150,000 in annual net purchases. Both cards also offer rewards on off‑Amazon purchases, though the specific rates for those categories are not disclosed.

This partnership aligns with U.S. Bank’s fee‑first strategy, which has driven a 7.6% year‑over‑year increase in fee revenue to $7,365 million in Q4 2025. With over 1.4 million small‑business clients, the new cards position the bank to capture a larger share of the growing small‑business credit‑card market and generate additional fee income through interchange and related services.

"We’re incredibly proud of our reputation as a top bank for small business owners. We are excited to partner with Amazon and Mastercard to empower small businesses with meaningful rewards and easy‑to‑use tools to manage spending, and—in the near future—offer these small businesses more value with additional U.S. Bank services," said Courtney Kelso, senior executive vice president, Payments: Consumer and Small Business.

"Convenient, rewarding payment options start with listening to the customer. Small businesses told us they wanted more ways to earn rewards wherever they shop and better tools to manage cash flow. We partnered with U.S. Bank and Mastercard to build a card program that delivers exactly that," added Tai Koottatep, director and general manager of Worldwide B2B Payments & Lending at Amazon.
