Universal Technical Institute, Inc. (UTI) has announced the construction of a new Concorde Career Colleges campus in Phoenix, Arizona. The 53,000‑square‑foot facility, located at 8990 W. Glendale Ave. in Glendale, will open in 2027 and will serve more than 620 students across nursing, dental assistant, medical assistant, physical therapy assistant, pharmacy technician, surgical technology, and radiologic technology programs.

The new campus is a key milestone in UTI’s Phase II North Star strategy, which calls for opening multiple campuses each year through 2029. Phoenix was selected because its population is growing at a faster rate than the national average and its healthcare sector is expanding, creating a strong pipeline of demand for allied‑health professionals. By adding a dedicated health‑care training center, UTI is diversifying beyond its traditional transportation and skilled‑trade programs and positioning itself in a high‑growth market.

UTI’s financial guidance for fiscal 2026 projects revenue of $905–$915 million, with adjusted EBITDA of $114–$119 million. The Phoenix campus is expected to contribute a significant portion of that growth, with enrollment projections of 620 students translating into additional tuition revenue and a boost to the company’s overall student‑enrollment target. The company has earmarked roughly $40 million of its 2026 capital budget for campus openings and program enhancements, underscoring the strategic importance of the Phoenix investment.

Todd Hitchcock, UTI’s Chief Operating Officer, said the Phoenix location “is an ideal site for a new Concorde facility that will deliver sustainable growth and meaningful student outcomes.” Kevin Prehn, Division President of Concorde Career Colleges, added that the campus will “partner with local healthcare providers to create a pipeline of skilled workers that meets the region’s growing needs.”

The expansion comes at a time when the U.S. healthcare workforce is projected to grow by 15% over the next decade, and Phoenix’s hospitals and clinics are actively seeking qualified assistants and technicians. UTI’s established employer‑partner network will help secure internship and job placement opportunities for graduates, while state and accreditor approvals are being pursued to ensure the campus meets all regulatory requirements.
