Veritone has added its proprietary Redact tool to its Veritone Data Refinery (VDR), creating a single, end‑to‑end pipeline that removes personally identifiable information from audio, video, image, and text data before tokenization. The integration allows VDR to deliver privacy‑compliant, AI‑ready datasets to hyperscalers and other customers without the need for separate redaction steps.

Redact’s capabilities include automated masking, inverse blur, and multilingual transcription in 64 languages. When combined with VDR’s tokenization engine, the solution can strip PII, preserve content integrity, and produce clean training data that meets strict regulatory standards for public‑sector clients such as the Department of Justice and state police agencies.

The move is expected to broaden VDR’s customer base and accelerate adoption among privacy‑conscious organizations. In the second half of 2025, VDR processed 3.5 times more data than in the first half, reaching 22.2 trillion tokens, and its bookings grew 100 % quarter‑over‑quarter in Q3 2025 to over $40 million. The integration is a key component of Veritone’s strategy to position VDR as a high‑margin, high‑growth software engine.

"We are committed to helping data‑driven organizations protect their valuable assets and help ensure that their data is used cleanly and ethically. We're proud to use our own proprietary, AI‑enabled tool, Redact, which is traditionally used by our public sector customers, including the Department of Justice, and state and local police agencies, to help ensure PII is safeguarded before going through refinement. This is a prime example of our dedication to providing innovative solutions that the market needs while fostering a more responsible and ethical AI ecosystem for everyone." – Ryan Steelberg, CEO of Veritone
