Venture Global, Inc. (NYSE:VG) has entered into a binding agreement with Vitol to supply the trading firm with approximately 1.5 million tonnes per annum of U.S. liquefied natural gas (LNG) beginning in 2026. The five‑year contract provides a stable, long‑term revenue stream for Venture Global and expands Vitol’s U.S. LNG supply base.
The LNG will be delivered from Venture Global’s existing and under‑construction facilities, including the Calcasieu Pass terminal that began production in 2022 and the Plaquemines LNG plant that started operating in December 2024. These facilities together contribute to Venture Global’s total capacity of over 100 MTPA in production, construction, or development, positioning the company to meet the growing demand for U.S. LNG.
The deal is a key milestone in Venture Global’s strategy to become the largest U.S. exporter of LNG. By securing a long‑term contract with a major trader, the company diversifies its customer base and contract tenors, complementing its portfolio of short, medium, and long‑term supply agreements. The agreement also supports the company’s recent progress on the CP2 LNG project, for which it has secured a final investment decision on Phase 2 and significant financing, further expanding its export capacity.
The timing of the deal coincides with heightened geopolitical uncertainty in the global LNG market. Recent disruptions to Qatar’s LNG supply—stemming from attacks on its infrastructure—have tightened global supply and increased demand for U.S. LNG. Venture Global’s ability to deliver reliable, flexible LNG positions it to capture this demand, while Vitol’s expanded supply base enhances its ability to serve customers worldwide.
"Global demand for flexible, reliable U.S. LNG is rapidly growing, and Venture Global is proud to work with premier LNG trading companies like Vitol to provide this critical supply to the market," said Mike Sabel, CEO of Venture Global. "Vitol is delighted to be working with Venture Global, a leading producer and supplier of LNG to world markets," added Pablo Galante Escobar, Global Head of LNG at Vitol.
