Viavi Solutions announced the launch of its Cesium‑less ePRTC360+ enhanced primary reference time clock on February 17, 2026. The new device meets ITU‑T G.8272.1 standards, delivering short‑term drift under 30 ns and long‑term drift under 100 ns over 14 days, and incorporates a Rubidium holdover oscillator with a SecureTime GEO‑L anti‑jamming antenna to maintain 100 ns accuracy even in GNSS‑denied environments.
The ePRTC360+ targets critical infrastructure sectors—including power grids, transportation, aviation, public safety, 5G networks and AI data centers—providing a cost‑effective alternative to traditional Cesium atomic clocks, which are expensive and subject to export restrictions. By eliminating the need for Cesium, Viavi reduces deployment cost and complexity at edge sites while maintaining stringent timing performance.
Viavi has integrated the ePRTC360+ into its SecurePNT 6200 product line and will demonstrate the clock at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona on March 2‑5. The launch aligns with the company’s strategy to capture growing demand for resilient positioning, navigation, and timing (PNT) solutions amid rising GNSS threat concerns.
The product launch follows Viavi’s Q2 FY2026 earnings, in which the company reported revenue of $369.3 million—$4.05 million above estimates—and EPS of $0.22, beating consensus by $0.03. Management cited strong demand in core segments and disciplined cost control as drivers of the earnings beat. Viavi raised its Q3 revenue guidance to $386 million–$400 million, reflecting confidence in continued demand for its PNT portfolio.
"The Cesium‑less ePRTC360+ exceeds leading‑edge Cesium‑level holdover performance and does this for significantly lower price," said Doug Russell, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Aerospace and Defense. The new clock positions Viavi as a key player in the expanding market for resilient timing solutions, offering a scalable, export‑friendly alternative to Cesium clocks.
