Vertiv Holdings Co. completed its acquisition of Strategic Thermal Labs LLC on April 27, 2026. The transaction, whose financial terms were not disclosed, brings a specialist in advanced liquid‑cooling technologies into Vertiv’s portfolio, adding expertise in cold‑plate design, server‑side liquid cooling, and high‑density thermal validation.

Strategic Thermal Labs’ technology is designed to simulate and validate real high‑density compute conditions, a capability that Vertiv said will strengthen its ability to optimize the interaction between the thermal chain and power train. “As AI and high‑performance computing push power densities to unprecedented levels, understanding and solving heat challenges at the chip level becomes critical to system design, performance and reliability,” said Scott Armul, Chief Product and Technology Officer.

The acquisition reinforces Vertiv’s end‑to‑end offering of power, cooling and lifecycle services, positioning the company ahead of the curve in the AI data‑center market. “Our investments in technology and capacity, combined with strategic acquisitions, are translating into market share gains as customers demand faster deployment, greater reliability, and comprehensive services,” added CEO Giordano Albertazzi.

Vertiv’s Q1 2026 earnings, released around the same time, showed a 30.1% year‑over‑year rise in revenue to $2.65 billion and an adjusted EPS of $1.17 versus the consensus estimate of $1.02. The earnings beat was driven by strong demand in the Americas region, where revenue grew 53.1% year‑over‑year, offsetting a 20.3% decline in the EMEA region. Management’s decision to raise full‑year guidance reflects confidence in continued demand for high‑density cooling solutions and the added value of the new acquisition.

Investor sentiment following the announcement was mixed, reflecting both enthusiasm for Vertiv’s expanded cooling capabilities and caution over regional performance headwinds. The acquisition signals a continued focus on meeting the growing demands of AI and high‑performance computing workloads, reinforcing Vertiv’s strategic positioning in the high‑density data‑center market.
