Viasat Inc. announced a new partnership with Spanish low‑cost carrier Vueling that will provide free, high‑speed Wi‑Fi on more than 80 aircraft in Vueling’s A320‑family fleet. The service is powered by Viasat’s European Aviation Network (EAN) and its digital platform, which delivers an ad‑supported connectivity experience that allows passengers to stream video, audio and interactive services from any personal device during flight.

The partnership, which began in October 2025, has already generated more than one million connected sessions and lifted Vueling’s in‑flight Wi‑Fi satisfaction scores by 13 percentage points. Vueling’s fleet is primarily composed of Airbus A319, A320 and A321 aircraft, and the free‑Wi‑Fi rollout covers the majority of its A320‑family planes, representing a significant portion of the airline’s operations.

Viasat’s move comes after its 2023 acquisition of Inmarsat, which broadened its satellite broadband capabilities and positioned the company to offer scalable, line‑fit connectivity solutions across Europe. By leveraging the joint EAN venture with Deutsche Telekom, Viasat is extending its reach into the low‑cost carrier segment, a market that has historically been underserved by high‑cost satellite providers.

"Staying connected and entertained while in‑flight is increasingly an expectation from Vueling’s customers. We set about creating a platform with Viasat that makes it easy to access content and services from any personal device throughout the flight. In doing so we have been able to deliver a great experience for our customers and increased passenger satisfaction scores," said Melanie Berry, Vueling’s Chief Customer Officer.

"We are incredibly proud to partner with Vueling to deliver an enriched, connected onboard experience, powered by the European Aviation Network. The service puts free entertainment into the hands of Vueling’s passengers and underscores our shared commitment to elevating the in‑flight experience and passenger satisfaction," added Don Buchman, President of Viasat Aviation. The partnership demonstrates how an ad‑supported model can provide a cost‑effective, high‑quality connectivity solution for a low‑cost carrier while creating incremental revenue opportunities for Viasat through increased usage and advertising partnerships.
