Workday, Inc. introduced the Military Skills Mapper, a new feature in its Workday Recruiting platform that converts veterans’ military service histories into a set of civilian‑equivalent skills. The mapper will appear in the “My Experience” section of a candidate’s profile and is slated for availability to Workday Recruiting customers in the fall of 2026.

The tool is designed to bridge the language gap that often prevents employers from recognizing the leadership, technical, and operational capabilities veterans bring. By providing recruiters with a clear, recruiter‑friendly skill set, Workday aims to help organizations meet their veteran‑hiring commitments and tap into a highly motivated talent pool.

Workday’s Q4 fiscal 2025 results underscored the company’s strong momentum. Total revenue rose 15.0% year‑over‑year to $2.211 billion, driven by a 15.9% increase in subscription revenue to $2.040 billion. Earnings per share of $0.35 beat analyst expectations of $0.12, a $0.23 or 192% beat, largely due to robust demand for AI‑enabled SKUs and disciplined cost management. Non‑GAAP operating income reached $584 million, a 26.4% margin, up from $462 million and a 24.0% margin in the prior year’s quarter.

CEO Carl Eschenbach highlighted the company’s “continued momentum with our full suite and financial solutions, growing demand for our AI SKUs, and strong execution across key industries.” CFO Zane Rowe noted a “roughly $20 million incremental headwind” from a strengthening U.S. dollar that will temper FY26 guidance but did not offset the overall growth trajectory.

For fiscal 2026, Workday guided for subscription revenue of approximately $8.8 billion, a 14% increase from the prior year, and a non‑GAAP operating margin of 28.0%, up from 26.4% in Q4 FY25. The guidance reflects confidence in the company’s AI platform, the new Military Skills Mapper, and the broader shift toward inclusive talent acquisition.

The Military Skills Mapper is expected to generate new revenue streams and strengthen Workday’s competitive position in the HR technology market by addressing a specific pain point for veteran hiring. The feature’s launch signals Workday’s continued investment in AI‑driven solutions that translate specialized skill sets into marketable competencies, reinforcing its strategy to become the leading enterprise AI platform for people and finance.

The addition of the mapper aligns with Workday’s broader strategy to expand its AI‑powered recruiting capabilities and to deepen its focus on inclusive talent acquisition, positioning the company to capture a growing demand for veteran-friendly hiring tools.
