Wipro Limited announced that Nagendra Bandaru will serve as chief executive officer of its AI segment, a move that follows the company’s push to accelerate its AI‑first strategy and strengthen its position in the rapidly expanding enterprise AI market. Bandaru, an insider with extensive experience in AI product development and delivery, will oversee the development and commercialization of Wipro’s AI platforms, including the WINGS platform—an AI‑powered delivery system for IT maintenance, support, and business processes—and the WEGA platform, an agent‑native delivery system for development, migration, and modernization. The appointment also signals the integration of the recently acquired HARMAN Digital Transformation Solutions (DTS) business unit, which Wipro completed on December 1 2025, into its AI portfolio.

Srini Pallia, Wipro’s CEO and Managing Director, said the new leadership "sharpens Wipro Intelligence’s ability to deliver tangible value to clients and drive stronger business outcomes. It positions us to build and scale AI‑led platforms at an unprecedented speed and unlock new growth opportunities." He added, "For our clients, 2025 was more about deploying AI, proof of concepts, and bringing productivity benefits. That’s dramatically changing in 2026 because the boards and the CEOs are asking them where the return on investment is." Pallia also noted that the partnership with Harness "establishes a proven blueprint for AI‑native software delivery – enabling enterprises to innovate at speed, strengthen reliability, and deliver resilient digital experiences in an AI‑first world."

The appointment is part of Wipro’s broader strategy to monetize its AI investments, which include a $1 billion commitment over three years through the Wipro ai360 ecosystem. By consolidating leadership around the AI unit, Wipro aims to accelerate the monetization of AI‑native solutions and capture the growing demand for AI‑enabled services. The integration of HARMAN DTS adds embodied AI and embedded software capabilities, strengthening Wipro’s product engineering and digital transformation services. In a competitive landscape where Infosys and TCS are also expanding their AI offerings, the new CEO role positions Wipro to compete more effectively in the enterprise AI market. The move also aligns with Wipro’s “services as software” approach, moving beyond traditional outsourcing to scalable, reusable AI‑powered platforms.

Financially, Wipro reported IT services revenue of $2.64 billion for Q3 FY26, a 1.4% sequential increase in constant currency, and an operating margin of 17.6%. The company expressed concerns about weak organic growth and guided 0–2% constant‑currency growth for Q4 FY26. The appointment signals confidence that the AI unit will help drive future revenue growth and improve profitability, addressing the headwinds of modest organic expansion and competitive pricing pressure. The new leadership is expected to accelerate the adoption of Wipro Intelligence and the WINGS and WEGA platforms, thereby converting AI investments into tangible business outcomes.

Investors reacted positively to the announcement, reflecting confidence in Wipro’s AI strategy and the potential for accelerated monetization of its AI‑native solutions.
