Willdan Group, Inc. has secured a $27 million, three‑year contract with the New York City Mayor’s Office of Climate & Environmental Justice to deliver services under the NYC Accelerator program.
The NYC Accelerator program offers free guidance, technical assistance, workforce training and financing options to building owners, helping them reduce energy use, cut greenhouse‑gas emissions and comply with Local Law 97. Willdan will provide the expertise needed to help owners meet the city’s stringent emissions limits and advance New York City’s goal of carbon neutrality by 2050.
To execute the program, Willdan has partnered with eight local firms—Blenderbox, Bright Power, Cadence OneFive, Kinetic Communities Consulting (KC3), LIFE3, Steven Winter Associates, TYTHEdesign and Urban Green Council—leveraging local expertise and supporting workforce development in the city.
The contract marks a strategic shift from awareness‑building to active project implementation, aligning with Willdan’s core strengths in energy efficiency and sustainability. It adds $27 million of revenue over three years and increases the company’s backlog, which stood at $1 billion at the end of FY25, providing roughly 1.5 years of coverage.
By helping building owners comply with Local Law 97, the agreement positions Willdan favorably in the growing sustainability sector and demonstrates its ability to secure large government contracts. The partnership with local firms underscores Willdan’s strategy of leveraging local relationships and expanding the local workforce.
Willdan’s Q4 2025 earnings—reported on March 5 2026—showed an EPS of $1.57 versus a consensus estimate of $0.75, a beat driven by strong cost control and operational leverage. Revenue of $89.51 million fell short of the $174.5 million estimate, reflecting weaker demand in legacy segments. The new contract adds revenue visibility and may help offset future volatility in Willdan’s earnings.
