WeRide Inc. and GAC Aion announced the launch of the Aion N60, a compact crossover SUV that incorporates WeRide’s WRD 3.0 one‑stage end‑to‑end ADAS solution. The vehicle is the first passenger car jointly developed by the two companies and the first consumer‑grade SUV to feature WRD 3.0.

The launch comes as WeRide reports a Q4 2025 revenue of RMB 314 million (US$44.9 million) and a net loss of RMB 1.655 billion. The company’s FY 2025 revenue of RMB 684.6 million (US$97.9 million) was driven by robotaxi, robobus, L2+ ADAS, and robotic logistics segments. Adding a consumer vehicle line is intended to diversify revenue streams and create recurring service and data‑driven income that can offset the high operating losses.

WRD 3.0 competes in a market that includes established ADAS providers such as Bosch, Aptiv, and Mobileye. The one‑stage architecture delivers multi‑object intention prediction and real‑time semantic perception on a Qualcomm Snapdragon platform, offering a lower‑cost, scalable alternative to two‑stage systems. The partnership positions WeRide to capture a share of the growing autonomous‑driving software market projected to reach USD 6.95 billion by 2034.

Deploying WRD 3.0 in a mass‑produced consumer SUV supports WeRide’s dual‑flywheel strategy. The data collected from the N60’s sensors will feed back into the company’s L4 robotaxi platform, accelerating development and improving safety. At the same time, the consumer line provides a revenue stream that can fund further R&D and help the company move closer to profitability.

GAC Aion, the third‑largest battery‑electric‑vehicle brand in China, brings a strong manufacturing base and a growing international presence. Integrating WRD 3.0 into its product line allows GAC Aion to differentiate its vehicles with advanced safety features and to meet regulatory requirements for higher‑level autonomous driving in key markets.

The Aion N60 launch marks a significant step for WeRide, expanding its footprint beyond robotaxi services into the consumer automotive market. The move is expected to strengthen the company’s competitive position, broaden its data ecosystem, and provide a new source of recurring revenue that could help mitigate the current loss profile.
