The integration of WeRide’s robotaxi fleet into Tencent’s Mobility Service mini‑program on WeChat became effective on March 13 2026, allowing users to book and pay for rides directly within the popular messaging app. This move adds a high‑traffic channel for customer acquisition and data collection, potentially boosting ride volume and accelerating the company’s path to unit‑economic breakeven in key markets.

The integration builds on a long‑standing partnership between WeRide and Tencent Cloud that began in April 2024 and deepened in May 2025. By embedding its services into WeChat, WeRide taps into China’s largest mobile user base, enhancing convenience for riders and expanding its reach across the country.

WeRide’s strategy to accelerate commercialization is reflected in its Q3 2025 earnings, where revenue rose 144.3% YoY to US$24.0 million, driven largely by a 761% jump in robotaxi revenue to US$5.0 million. The company’s fleet expansion and service penetration have narrowed losses, and management has highlighted the dual‑flywheel strategy of combining robotaxi services with mass‑production ADAS systems as a competitive advantage.

CEO Dr. Tony Han noted, “We have found the Abu Dhabi model, which created a roadmap for other cities.” The integration into WeChat is expected to accelerate the rollout of robotaxi services in new markets, support the company’s goal of deploying over 2,600 vehicles by the end of 2026 and tens of thousands by 2030, and bring the business closer to per‑vehicle profitability.

The move also complements WeRide’s global expansion, with robotaxi operations and permits in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Switzerland, France, and the United States. By partnering with major mobility platforms such as Uber and Grab, WeRide is positioning itself as a leading player in the autonomous driving market.
