WeRide Inc. (NASDAQ: WRD) announced that its WRD 3.0 end‑to‑end ADAS platform secured first place in the Wuhu round of the Second China Urban Intelligent Driving Competition, marking the fourth straight victory for the system. The win was achieved by the Chery Exeed Sterra ET, which integrates the WRD 3.0 solution jointly developed with Bosch, and outperformed competitors Horizon Robotics and XPeng by more than ten points. The competition, hosted by D1EV, evaluates vehicles on perception, planning, and safety in dense traffic environments, and the WRD 3.0 success confirms its ability to handle complex urban scenarios.

The WRD 3.0 platform relies on a proprietary GENESIS simulation environment and a large‑scale real‑world data set that accelerate training and validation of edge‑case scenarios. The platform’s readiness for mass‑production is already evident: the Chery Exeed EX7 was launched with WRD 3.0 on April 19 2026, and the solution is slated for deployment across additional models such as the GAC Aion N60 and other upcoming vehicles.

Financially, WeRide’s Q4 2025 results showed a 90% year‑over‑year revenue increase, with full‑year revenue reaching RMB 685 million and a gross margin of 30%—a jump from 13% in 2024. The Robotaxi segment grew 209.6% YoY to US$21.2 million, underscoring the company’s expanding service footprint. Although the company remains unprofitable, the narrowed net loss and improved gross profit reflect operational efficiencies and cost optimization efforts.

The competition win reinforces WeRide’s strategic narrative: it validates the platform’s technology, strengthens its competitive moat in the L2+ market, and signals to OEM partners that WRD 3.0 can deliver reliable, high‑margin performance in demanding urban settings. The achievement is expected to accelerate future product rollouts and support the broader strategy of integrating ADAS data into the company’s L4 robotaxi ecosystem.

The announcement aligns with WeRide’s broader trajectory of scaling its autonomous driving capabilities and expanding its capital reserve to US$1.0 billion, positioning the company to pursue further growth while managing the transition from development to commercialization.
