Xeriant, Inc. completed its internal fire‑testing phase for the NEXBOARD composite building panel on April 13 2026. The tests used a 3,000°F torch and met both the NFPA 286 corner‑burn and ASTM E84 flame‑spread and smoke tests, confirming that the panel produces no combustion or smoke under extreme heat.

The company will now conduct roughly a dozen third‑party tests at a certification laboratory in the Midwest and will perform in‑house validation at a recognized homebuilder’s research and development facilities. These steps are required for NEXBOARD to qualify for widespread use in residential and commercial construction and to secure formal certification.

NEXBOARD is an eco‑friendly, patent‑pending composite panel made from plastic and fiber waste that can replace drywall, plywood, OSB, MDF, and MgO board. Xeriant estimates the broader building‑materials market at $100 billion, with the green‑building segment projected to grow to over $1.19 trillion by 2032, positioning NEXBOARD to tap a large and expanding opportunity.

Xeriant’s latest Form 10‑Q for the six months ended December 31 2025 shows a weak balance sheet, a stockholders’ deficit, and an operating loss, although net income was reported due to a gain on extinguishment of debt. The company has raised concerns about its ability to continue as a going concern, underscoring that the product milestone, while significant, occurs amid financial challenges.

"We are excited to take this important step toward certification of NEXBOARD, which we believe has the potential to be a game‑changing solution for the construction industry," said CEO Keith Duffy. Brig. Gen. Blaine Holt, President of Xeriant’s Factor X Research Group, added, "Over the past several months we have been arduously performing fire tests to ensure that NEXBOARD’s fire‑resistant performance will pass the rigorous NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) 286 corner burn test and the ASTM E84 fire test for flame spread and smoke. The results we are achieving for fire‑resistant performance are very impressive, as we have been using a 3,000°F torch and achieving no combustion or smoke, which are key components of these fire tests."

The certification milestone could unlock partnerships with builders, developers, and distributors, but Xeriant must still secure sufficient capital to sustain operations and complete the certification process. Investors should monitor the company’s financial health and the progress of third‑party testing as indicators of its ability to bring NEXBOARD to market.
