XPeng Inc. announced that it will begin full‑scale volume production of its “flying car” platform in 2027 and will start mass production of its humanoid robot line in the fourth quarter of 2026. The company said the new products will be built at its Guangzhou plant, where trial production of the “Land Aircraft Carrier” began in November 2025.

XPeng also highlighted the potential for deeper cooperation with Volkswagen. The German automaker has invested $700 million for a 4.99 % stake in XPeng and is already collaborating on electric‑vehicle models and an integrated E/E architecture that will be deployed across Volkswagen’s platforms in China. “There are a lot of areas that we can partner and really provide value to each other,” said XPeng president Brian Gu.

XPeng’s global footprint now spans more than 60 countries. Overseas deliveries nearly doubled in 2025, contributing over 15 % of total revenue, and the company aims to raise that share above 20 % in 2026 as it expands its international sales network.

The company reported a first‑ever quarterly net profit of RMB 380 million in Q4 2025, with revenue of RMB 22.25 billion, up 38.2 % year‑over‑year. Gross margin reached 21.3 %, up from 14.4 % a year earlier. For Q1 2026, XPeng guided for deliveries of 61,000‑66,000 units and revenue of RMB 12.2‑13.28 billion, a 16‑23 % sequential decline. Investors focused on the weaker outlook, which tempered enthusiasm for the Q4 profit.

XPeng’s pivot into flying cars and humanoid robots reflects its broader “Physical AI” strategy, aiming to leverage its automotive and AI expertise across multiple mobility platforms. The new ventures offer potential revenue diversification, but they also carry regulatory, technological, and market‑acceptance risks. The company’s partnership with Volkswagen is positioned as a stabilizing factor, providing access to resources and a wider market reach while the company navigates the competitive Chinese EV landscape.

XPeng chairman and CEO Xiaopeng He said the expanded technical collaboration with Volkswagen “marks a significant milestone” and underscores the company’s commitment to continuous innovation in smart electric‑vehicle technologies. The company’s leadership signals confidence that the new mobility initiatives will complement its core EV business and support long‑term growth.
