East Baton Rouge Parish Schools has added Evolv Express® weapons‑detection systems to eight additional high schools, raising the district’s total deployment to twelve units. The new installations replace the district’s traditional walk‑through metal detectors, allowing students to pass through screening at their normal walking pace while maintaining a high level of security. The expansion is part of a partnership with Alliance Technology Group, which has been a key partner in deploying Evolv’s AI‑powered Express system across the region.

Evolv Technologies, the maker of the Express system, reported Q3 2025 revenue of $42.9 million, a 57% year‑over‑year increase, and an annual recurring revenue of $117.2 million, up 25% YoY. The company’s subscription‑based model has positioned it to capture a growing share of the K‑12 market, which currently represents only 1–2% of total school‑security penetration. The East Baton Rouge expansion is a tangible example of that growth trajectory and adds a recurring revenue stream that aligns with Evolv’s broader strategy to scale its education portfolio.

"We built Evolv Express to help schools optimize both security and efficiency, so students and teachers can focus on learning from the moment the school day begins," said John Kedzierski, President and CEO of Evolv Technologies. "This partnership with East Baton Rouge Parish Schools demonstrates the real‑world impact of our technology and reinforces our confidence in the K‑12 market as a key growth engine." John D. McCann, Chief of Operations for the district, added, "Our top priority is the safety of our students and staff. By partnering with Alliance and Evolv, we are able to leverage innovative technology to create a more secure and welcoming environment for everyone."

The broader security‑technology landscape has seen increased scrutiny, including a proposed FTC settlement over alleged misleading marketing claims and an ongoing SEC probe. The FTC settlement, which included no fines or admission of guilt, allowed K‑12 schools to cancel contracts if they chose to do so. Despite these regulatory challenges, customer loyalty remains strong, and the district’s decision to expand its use of Evolv’s system signals confidence in the product’s performance and the company’s ability to navigate compliance hurdles.

The expansion not only strengthens the district’s safety infrastructure but also underscores Evolv’s recurring revenue model and its ability to secure long‑term contracts in a highly competitive market. By adding twelve high‑school deployments, the district contributes to Evolv’s growing footprint in education, a segment that is expected to drive a significant portion of the company’s future growth. The partnership also positions Evolv to capture additional market share as other districts look to modernize their security protocols in response to rising concerns about school violence.
